Sitting Pretty

Hope everyone that celebrates it had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I hosted and had a total of 18 people in my home, 16 for dinner. The last week was much too busy to get online. Not much is happening in the garden, anyway. We’ve been enjoying an extended fall, but the weather has finally taken a turn toward winter. I still have a few things growing; lettuce, turnips, onions, and mustard for its benefits to the soil. Yesterday, I went out to clean up more leaves and found some plants with new growth; marigold, purple coneflower, tansy. I wonder if the few frosts and one hard freeze tricked the plants into thinking the unusually warm weather was the return of spring. If so, they won’t be fooled for much longer.

Isn’t it interesting what is still blooming this time of year? I am glad you had a good Thanksgiving.
