And The Winner Is…

February 15, 2010

The winner of my garden photography postcards, for the One World One Heart event is…

Debbie in Nashville!!

Congratulations, Debbie! Debbie blogs at On the Refrigerator Door. Scurry on over and check her out. 🙂

Today is also garden bloggers’ bloom day, but there aren’t many blooms, here. A couple of the overwintering geraniums have a few blooms. A few violets have blooms, but they wither away quicker than they bloomed, due to the aphid treatments. My Christmas cactus has yet to produce any buds. The amaryllis have all withered, but these are the last photos I took of them, one with flash…

…and one without.

Your amaryllis looks diamond-spangled. Gorgeous image! Nice to find you through Bloom Day.

Here in the Texas Hill Country, spring is approaching. A little like a square dance, forward and back–tonight’s low will be 29F–but the butterflies are out on warm days and the wildflowers will send up stalks in the next couple of months.

I just love those amaryllis. They are spectacular bulb to watch unfold their flowers. The flash shot really shows the sparkles that the light catches on the petals. just beautiful
